About Last Night - WOW!!

Harlem, you did that!! and you were heard!

Key takeaways from last night :

  • Over 100+ Harlemites were in attendance (50% in-person / 50% on Zoom)

  • Odyssey House is using a new word salad, calling their facility a “Housing Program” in an effort to mask the fact that their housing is part of a client’s drug rehabilitation journey.

    • Also, they are using the term ‘Mental Health’ as a cover for ‘drug use’.

  • We removed the blinders that Odyssey House has concerning Onpoint, the drug crisis in the surrounding area, and the extra negative impact opening this new facility would have on our neighborhood.

  • There were many conversations after the meeting about how the Harlem community can collaborate and push back similar to what the residents of the West Village did recently.

We will be sending out the recording and the slides from last night when they are ready.

Last but not least please fill out our community survey if you haven’t already. Your feedback matters!
