Assembly Member Gibbs' Lawsuit Is Tossed

Assembly Member Eddie Gibbs' time representing East Harlem as a district leader may soon end. Gibbs sued the Manhattan Democratic Party after being passed over for the unpaid position in July. However, Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Frank Nervo ruled against Gibbs, allowing the newly elected individuals to be seated.

This ruling could mark the end of a months-long process that left the 68th Assembly District, Part A's two district leader seats empty.

Marlon Ruiz and Nina Saxon, the elected leaders, can now be recognized and seated by the Manhattan Democratic Party. See:
