Come Out to Our Next HNBA Meeting on Wednesday, at 7:00 PM

Location: 2306 3rd Avenue, between 125 and 126th Streets

Yes, you’re invited to attend the Wednesday, November 13th (at 7:00 PM) HNBA community meeting. We’re going to have published Harlem historian Christopher Bell meet with us to tell us more about the hidden history of Harlem and the amazing stories that surround us all.

Christopher is a published author, with his fourth book on Harlem now out on Rutgers University Press:

Walking East Harlem: A Neighborhood Experience is a great read for anyone who enjoys the joy of walking and looking at our rich cityscape.

Community Solar (Power)

And for a 2nd speaker on Wednesday, we’ll have a Community Power representative to talk about getting more solar power into Harlem.

Community Power is a community solar project for low- and moderate-income residents of New York City. The solar energy systems were installed on three NYCHA campuses – Carver, Glenwood, and Kingsborough, so participants did not install anything on their properties, and construction was completed in 2021. Participants are saving about $120 a year on their electricity costs with solar energy from their local community.

Through the project teams’s partnership with NYCHA, the solar installations are located on the roof of three NYCHA campuses: Carver, Glenwood, and Kingsborough.
