New York State Assembly Member Jordan Wright addresses Manhattan Community Board 10 at general meeting
January 8th, 2025 Manhattan Community Board 10 (https://cbmanhattan.cityofnewyork.us/cb10/) held a monthly general meeting in Harlem at FIRST CORINTHIAN BAPTIST CHURCH located at 1912 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd, New York, NY 10026 (Corner of 116th Street) focusing on hearing from community members in Harlem and addressing some of the outstanding needs within the community.
FIRST CORINTHIAN BAPTIST CHURCH is home to the H.O.P.E. Center (Healing On Purpose and Evolving) and a dedicated, wonderful ministry.
FIRST CORINTHIAN BAPTIST CHURCH is a staple within the community, H.O.P.E. Center whose mission statement is: “The HOPE (Healing On Purpose and Evolving) Center is the manifestation of Senior Pastor Michael A. Walrond’s vision, to effectively support the vast mental health needs of the parishioners of First Corinthian Baptist Church, and the Harlem community at large.
The center seeks to minimize the stigma around communities of color when seeking mental health services. It prides itself in having licensed clinicians who utilize evidence-based therapeutic practices to support a variety of daily living challenges including depression, trauma, sexual abuse, and bereavement. The HOPE Center staff looks forward to working with you. (https://hopecenterharlem.org/about-hope-center/) graciously opens its space to accommodate Manhattan CB 10 general meeting, a gathering to discuss many important issues, tap in to access to resources, and provide the community with a listening ear to hear their voices and their stories to better serve the community.
Manhattan Community Board 10 graciously gives thanks to the leadership of FIRST CORINTHIAN BAPTIST CHURCH for having provided space to host this past January year 2025’s general meeting that was attended by to date one of the newest New York State Assembly Members for New York’s 70th District, the honorable New York State Assembly Member Jordan Wright a resident of Central Harlem who spoke of his experience as having been officially inaugurated earlier that date January 8th, 2025 affirming his commitment to serve his community in the likeliness of his Father to continue in the legacy of community servitude, and while in attendance New York State Assembly Member Jordan Wright spoke and made himself very clear with his communication to the community emphasizing the fact that his office is intact and functioning to be of service to the community as New York State Assembly Member Jordan Wright continues to advocate for the Harlem community legislatively at the State level.
In the tradition of the efficacy of Manhattan Community Board 10 addresses important issues and highlights on the agenda continues to provide well needed support to the Harlem Community ranging in services not limited to include reviewing business proposals and requests for licensures, community development, community safety, economics, and so forth via the inclusive committees listed as Arts & Culture Committee, Economic Development Technology and Communications, Education Youth & Libraries Committee, Health and Human Services Committee, Housing Committee, Land Use Committee, Parks and Recreation Committee, Public Safety Committee, Transportation, as well as Manhattan Community Board 10’s Historic Preservation & Landmarks Committee.
Manhattan Community Board 10 continues to lead community and governmental efforts mobilizing the embitterment of the Harlem Community having tenured experience, dedication and commitment to addressing community issues as well as creating solutions for the community members/businesses that Manhattan Community Board 10 serves.
