Harlem in Paint

+ HNBA Meeting Tonight at 7:00

A wonderful view of High Bridge by Ernest Lawson in a painterly, impressionistic style.

Note how the bridge at this point, retains all of its masonry arches - the masonry arches in the middle were soon removed, and a single steel arch was constructed to support the aqueduct and New York's water, but also to allow shipping to pass unimpeded.

The work is on view in San Francisco. Note the old steam/coal trains, the tug on the river, a boathouse, and the High Bridge Water Tower.

All Welcome - HNBA's Meeting is Tonight

HNBA invites you to join our January meeting tonight at 7:00 PM.

We’ll meet at the Salvation Army Building: 2306 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10035 (our meeting room is on the 2nd floor - staff will guide you there).

We’ll have a presentation from ConEd’s Harlem consumer representative, who will talk about free energy audits, energy-saving devices, and ways Harlem residents can qualify for help from ConEd to lower bills and energy usage.

We’ll also have an information session from HNBA neighbor Tony Shaw on personal finance and achieving your goals for college, home ownership, or retirement.

Lastly, we’ll hear from the Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA), who steward a lot of what happens on Randall’s Island. We’re very excited to hear more about their plans for 2024 and perhaps even a field trip to see what’s happening across the river.

All welcome. Bring a friend or bring a neighbor.
