Kids on Fence

+ Dapper Dan

In 1964, Look Magazine had a feature on Harlem. One of the great photos in the spread showed rows of children posing for the photographer by climbing on a fence.

Ebay has a copy of the issue for sale.

Dapper Dan

If you haven’t had the chance, make sure to pick up Dapper Dan's memoir to read (recall) more about Harlem’s street fashion scene in the early 80’s.

Dan’s (in)famous boutique was not only on 125th Street East but located in buildings that were knocked down to give way to the flagship site of the Harlem Children's Zone.

Uptown Grand Central should include him as a business alumnus. You can pick up

a new or used copy of the book, here.
