The Uptown Garden Center (UGC) has moved out of its location under the Metro North tracks between 116th and 118th Streets, down to 111th and 113th Streets (also under the Metro North tracks.

When all the supplies, soil, gifts, trees, plants, stones, and even chickens are gone, the space looks vast.

A Mural From the 1990s

Lydia's Magic Garden (on the east side of Park Avenue, between 117/118) has a mural painted by Lydia's son, Oliver, back in 1995. The coqui (frog), Puerto Rican flag, and colonial fortress detail, continue to bring joy to visitors and guests of the garden.
