Shakespeare Visits Harlem
+ The Claremont Inn
For fans of live stage performances, those appreciating the arts, and those longing for a dose of Shakespeare in the Park (Central Park) do not need to wait until The Delacorte Theater reopens in the summer of 2025, they can take a quick trip Uptown to Harlem's Richard Rodgers Amphitheatre in Marcus Garvey Park to see a rendition of "A Midnight Summer's Dream," presented by The Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH).
Check for dates that famed comic Russell Peters will portray Nick Bottom (do not fret if you miss him as he was scheduled to show on 7/16, but the show went great without a hitch!). This version of Shakespeare's classic is set against the backdrop of the Harlem Renaissance and is directed by Carl Cofield.
And best of all, it's FREE! (Donations are appreciated). But be sure to attend as the play runs until Sunday, 7/28. For more information and to get free tickets, please visit here: https://www.cthnyc.org/
The Claremont Inn
A great postcard of the Claremont Inn on Riverside drive at 124th Street:
Dinner, dancing, and a view of the river, Grant’s Tomb, and the Palisades.
