Silk Stocking School

In the 19th century, the influx of wealthy New Yorkers to Harlem resulted in a local school being known as "The Silk Stocking School" located at Lenox and 128th Streets:

Even into the early 20th Century, this school retained a posh luster and a reputation for forward-thinking in the education of girls who were (somewhat scandalously) taught Greek, Latin, and Mathematics:

It’s dated April 5, 1921, and from Elizabeth Ward to Mabelle Herrington. The Corn Exchange Bank was located at Park/125, in this building:

That degraded into this pile of rubble:

And was rebuilt as this:
